How often does Casa do Zouk take place?

Casa Do Zouk will take place every year at the end of July.

When and where is the event being held?

Casa Do Zouk is being held at Mantra on View Hotel in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Queensland. The event will take place from Thursday 27th – Sunday 30th July 2023

How much are the tickets and when do they go on sale?

Can I pay for one workshop or party?

Unfortunately this is not possible. The only way to attend all workshops and parties at Casa do Zouk is if you purchase a Full or Performer pass. Alternatively if you choose to just attend the courses offered on Thursday afternoon separately.

I am part of a team that would like to perform at the event. How do I book a PERFORMER Pass?

To be eligible to purchase the PERFORMER Pass the team leader of each performance team must first have submitted a Performance Application for consideration. Please note that only the team leader from each team needs to submit this form on behalf of the whole team. If the Performance Application is accepted we will send the team leader your unique team Performer PASS Code which can be entered into the Book Now page to receive your discounted event pass. Team members should wait until their performance application has been approved and they have received their unique PERFORMER Pass Code before booking their ticket.

What do I need to bring to the registration desk at the event?

You will need to present some form of identification (eg driver’s license) or your booking confirmation on your phone to collect your event bracelet.

If for some reason I can't attend can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

Yes you can, however it is your responsibility to find the recipient. You are welcome to make it known you are looking to sell your ticket via the Casa Do Zouk Facebook page and once you have agreed on the transfer, email the recipient’s details to the Casa Do Zouk Team at info@casadozouk.com.au. Can I cancel my ticket?

If you are unable to find someone to transfer your ticket to, you are able to cancel and receive a partial refund up until a certain date. For more information view our ticket information page.

Where can I stay?

Casa Do Zouk is hosted at the Mantra on View Hotel in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Queensland. We have negotiated excellent rates for event participants to stay in the same hotel. Where can I eat near the venue?

There are many restaurants and coffee places within walking distance from the venue.

Does my Casa do Zouk ticket include flights and/or accommodation?

The Casa do Zouk Ticket does not include Flights or Accommodation. We have negotiated excellent rates for event participants to stay in the same hotel that the event is held in. What are the transport options to get to the venue?

Mantra on View Hotel is located in the heart of Surfers Paradise and easily accessed by car or bus.

Can I park at the venue?

Yes, there is car parking available at the venue for event participants at a cost of $15 per day/night. Entry to the car park is off View Avenue just next to the hotel.

What is the closest airport to the venue?

Gold Coast Airport (also known as Coolangatta Airport) is a 30 minute drive or 45 minute bus trip from the event venue at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. For public transport options visit TRANSLink and put your Start address as: Gold Coast Airport and End address as: View Ave, Surfers Paradise. The venue is about a 1 hour drive from Brisbane Airport.

Who are the organisers of Casa do Zouk?

Casa do Zouk is hosted by K&L Dance Events, an events company run by Kadu Pires & Larissa Thayane. K&L Dance Events also runs the Brazilian Zouk World Championships.

What level of workshops are available?

Level 1 – 1 month to 1 year experience.

Level 2 – 12 months to 2 years experience.

Level 3 – Must have BZDC points in Intermediate or Advanced level. Participants without Intermediate or Advanced BZDC points can audition up on Friday morning before workshops begin.

What sort of clothes and footwear should I wear to the workshops?

Most dancers choose to wear flat, soft soled shoes for dancing Brazilian Zouk however many women also choose to wear heels. Whilst the venue is air-conditioned, cool, comfortable clothing is essential for the event. Please consider the comfort of your dance partner and bring a towel, deodorant, mints and changes of shirt.

Will there be any carpeted rooms?

No, all workshops, shows and parties will take place on proper dance floor.
